Born in Alexandria, Virginia, but raised her whole life in Woodbridge, Virginia. Samantha’s love for music started at an early age, playing the piano, writing songs, and playing the alto saxophone in her high school marching band. In 2021, during her sophomore year, she was named "Outstanding Musician of the 2020-2021 school year" and was encouraged by her band director to continue composing. At 17, she began playing guitar and posting her songs on TikTok, where she started to gain a following.
After watching Steven Spielberg’s 2017 documentary on his career journey, a light sparked in Samantha. She was mesmerized and saw film through a different lens for the first time—as an art form. She wanted to know every stroke made, from the production process to the disillusionment and music that transformed these films into what they were.
Whenever she watched a film and loved the music in certain scenes, she would immediately research the composer, read about their lives, and watch their interviews. Through this, she was able to learn more about composers John Powell, Hans Zimmer, and John Paesano, whom she holds in high regard. She composes every day, with the hope of someday creating a composition close to theirs.
Samantha is currently a student at George Mason University, studying civil engineering with the aim of minoring in music composition. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school to pursue a master's degree in screen scoring.
